Brad Patton has announced a spectacular new deal with VIP Petfoods for the 2011 V8 Ute Series.

He’ll form the nucleus of a two-car VIP Petfoods V8 Ute Team with fellow Queensland livewire Ryal Harris.

“This is going to be the best year on record,” beams Patton, “I’ve never been this excited about a year of motor racing. Our team is going to look sensational and I’m certain that this will be the best year yet both on and off the track.”

Patton is proud of the new relationship with VIP Petfoods on many levels.

Only Juice hits the track for the first time this weekend PDF Print E-mail

For the first time, Only Juice Company takes to the track this weekend in a V8 Ute at Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, South Australia. Team Driver, Greg ‘Freddy’ Willis, will be behind the wheel of his #44 BF GJR Falcon, and he says he is ready for Adelaide.

“I’m really excited about the 2011 Series,” he said. “I love starting in Adelaide. It’s one of my favourite tracks and I’m looking forward to the four race format. It’s going to be big weekend.”

Willis’ has continually improved since entering the V8 Ute racing arena in 2006. Last year saw him consistently finishing in the top twenty and improving on times.

Big Gun Grows Bigger PDF Print E-mail

It’s not unfair to suggest that at the end of the 2010 Season “Big Gun Racing” was a little unsure of it’s future direction.
Peter Burnitt was in good touch but Brad Patton had destroyed his car at the Surfers Paradise event and it threw up an air of uncertainty.

Nobody was 100% sure of the make-up of the team for the coming year but that’s all changed, and changed in a very short space of time!

Where once there were two, sometimes three cars in the massive Big Gun semi-trailer, now there are FOUR!

Peter Burnitt, Brad Patton, Ryal Harris and Greg Willis are now the fighter pilots who base themselves out of USS Big Gun.

Burnitt is the lone Big Gun PDF Print E-mail

Peter Burnitt has to face the daunting Homebush V8 Utes finale on his own.

The Logan City Electrical MD will be the only Big Gun car fielded due to the fact that his team-mate and son in law Brad “Packers” Patton is sitting out the round after his WICKED / CHILL XR8 Falcon was declared a write-off after its power meeting with the wall at the Gold Coast 600.

Burnitt is not shying away from the Homebush experience however, working hard on the one part of his game that he knows needs improvement.

Big Guns and Bruises PDF Print E-mail

The concrete walls that line the Armor All Gold Coast 600 track are unforgiving, immoveable objects that take many weeks to be packed away by an army of men and their heavy industrial cranes many days after the event.

They’re heavy and their cumbersome.

And it takes a great deal more than one errant V8 Ute to shift one.

None the less, Brad Patton did his level best to shove one of the blocks that makes up the wall with his once pristine WICKED / CHILL XR8 Falcon.
