Harris seals his first V8 Ute round win at Bathurst PDF Print E-mail

Ryal Harris claimed Race 3 and Round 5 of the Auto One V8 Ute Racing Series – protected by Armor All at Mount Panorama, Sunday, 9th October.

It was the Gold Coasters first Round win in his six year V8 Ute history, and the V.I.P Petfood driver has now closed in on the Series lead.

“I’m happy and just want to do it again in a few weeks and I’ll be even happier. Two poles in a row, I know I’ve got the qualifying speed now, so I just need to have a great qualifying run at the Gold Coast and stay out of trouble in the reverse grid race,” said Harris.

Day three, Round 5 of the 2011 Auto One V8 Ute Racing Series – protected by Armor All certainly had its ups and downs. Ford drivers David Sieders and Ryal Harris outperformed Holden drivers, Nathan Pretty and Cameron McConville, to claim Race wins at Bathurst today, Saturday, 8th October.

The V8 Utes kicked off the day with Race 1 on a wet and greasy track. After 2 laps, the safety car was deployed due to an incident involving the Thirsty Camel Holden of Craig Dontas, which tapped the back of Brad Patton forcing his VIP Petfoods Ford into the wall at the exit to the Chase.

Harris one to "watch" PDF Print E-mail

Ryal Harris is heading to Bathurst full of confidence as he looks to breach the gap on his rivals. The VIP Petfoods driver currently sits in third position on the series ladder and as the only driver in the top 4 with a DNF to his name, to still be within striking distance is pleasing, although he would much rather be in the lead!

"The DNF at Townsville really cost me valuable points and the round win, I could have kept driving around with one axle spilling oil everywhere, but I don't think that’s fair to my fellow competitors."
Harris also has some new sponsors to announce before heading into battle at Bathurst announcing Supercheap Auto as a new partner for the weekend.
